Door County COIN, Inc., under the 501(c)(3) tax umbrella of the Door County Community Foundation, Inc. is raising money to form the corpus of a revolving micro-loan pool to lend to entrepreneurs with new and growing businesses in Door County.
The loans will be offered at below-market interest rates. COIN is designed to function with minimal administrative costs. The interest paid by the borrowers will cover the ongoing operational costs of COIN and the mentoring program, thereby allowing the repaid principal to be lent out again in the future as a part of this revolving micro-loan pool.
As a 501(c)(3) public charity, your contribution is deductible to the fullest extent as allowed by law.
COIN welcomes gifts via credit or debit card. As COIN is a project of the Community Foundation, it will appear on your statement as a charge to the “Door County Community Foundation, Inc.”

Join us as a Mentor of a COIN Entrepreneur
Businesses are generally started by people with an idea, product or service with which they are familiar and which they think others need. However, as familiar as these entrepreneurs are with their product or service, they often are less knowledgeable about the “business“ part of the new company. Unfortunately, this shortfall can lead to business failure.
Door County attracts a unique group of seasonal residents and retirees that are connected to some of the most successful businesses in the Midwest. This unparalleled business knowledge base presents an outstanding opportunity for local entrepreneurs and businesses to learn from some of the best.
Consider volunteering your time to help these new and growing businesses in Door County achieve their goals. As a business mentor, your counsel will be an invaluable resource to the entrepreneurs of our community. Mentors like you will play an essential role in helping our entrepreneurs succeed.
If you’re interested in volunteering your time as a mentor to a local business, please email coin@givedoorcounty.org or by calling (920) 746-1786 and say you’d like to volunteer as a business mentor for Door County COIN!
